Requirements for shower mixers?

Virtually all modern shower mixers are thermostatic mixers. The Enduce energy recovery floor drain works best with thermostatic mixers.

Thermostatic mixers control the mixing ratio between cold and hot water via a sensor placed in the tempered water sent to the shower head. The temperature-sensitive sensor, consisting of a capsule of graphite wax, together with the temperature control on the mixer, controls the ratio of hot and cold water mixed. This makes thermostatic mixers relatively insensitive to the temperature of incoming cold and hot water. The good function of installations with Enduce energy recovery floor drain and thermostatic mixers has been verified in about 10 different technical installations, and in dialog with thermostatic mixer specialists at several of the market's leading mixer suppliers.

More from the knowledge bank

The installation of the Enduce energy recovery floor drain leads to a significant reduction of energy consumption during the operational phase (EPD module B1).
Calcareous water does not have a problematic impact on the floor drain either on the gray water side (used shower water) or the tap water side.
A hot water-based cleaning system heats, melts and flushes greasy deposits out of the heat recovery system's heat exchanger.
